US$317.0 billion

About the size of Utah (2025 GDP)

Finland's dollar GDP rose 6.1% to US$317.0 billion in 2025, but real growth was only +0.2%; the 6.0-percentage-point gap was mostly exchange-rate and price effects, not output. Even so, it slipped 1 place to 49th, behind Peru and ahead of Kazakhstan.

Services account for 62.1% of output and industry 22.5%, with manufacturing at 14.2% and agriculture at 2.6%. Inflation was near zero at 0.3%, while unemployment stood at 9.5%. Government gross debt is 88.4% of GDP.

The ranking has drifted over time. Finland stood 33rd in 2000, with GDP of US$126.0 billion, and has grown 2.5x since. With 5.6 million people, output per person is US$56,149, 22nd of 196, and $65,884 international dollars on a purchasing-power basis, 29th. The economy is about the size of Utah. The IMF projects US$385.3 billion by 2030, up 22%, which would keep Finland 49th among economies with forecasts.
