In 2025, GDP fell 2.6% in US$ terms and 0.5% in real terms, and the country slipped 1 place, now between Barbados and the Maldives. GDP per capita of US$418 ranks 195th of 196, for a population of 41.8 million. Inflation ran at 20.2% and unemployment at 17.3%. As of 2018, services made up 41.8% of output, agriculture 28.7% and industry 25.4%. The economy is about the size of the Fairbanks, AK metro area's 2024 GDP. The IMF projects GDP of US$10.5 billion by 2030, up 34%, which would place it 149th.
