World Ranking of Economies · A Colaeb Annual Report

The world economy reached US$118.35 trillion

The inaugural World Ranking of Economies ranks 196 economies by 2025 GDP in current U.S. dollars. World output reached US$118.35 trillion, and the United States alone produced 26.00% of it. The UK edged back past India into 5th place, US$4.00 trillion to US$3.96 trillion, despite India's faster real growth; the IMF projects India will pass both the UK and Japan in 2027. Swiss and Polish GDP crossed US$1 trillion, taking the trillion-dollar club to 21, while the edition's biggest rank moves, led by Ghana up 10 and Venezuela down 12, were driven mainly by exchange rates and prices rather than output.

The world economy reached US$118.35 trillion

The UK retook fifth place from India, narrowly

The UK's US$4.00 trillion edged out India's US$3.96 trillion, even though India's real growth (+7.6%) outpaced the UK's (+1.4%). Both the World Bank and IMF figures put the UK ahead for 2025.
